ACE Camps (Aviation Career Education)

We are very pleased that our exciting aviation activity - the Louisiana ACE Summer Camp Program - has been very successful for several years.  We are planning to hold three camps in 2016:

  1. Gonzales, Louisiana Regional Airport, June 6 - June 10

  2. Marksville Municipal Airport, June 13 - June 17

  3. Southland Field Airport, June 20 - June 24

ACE stands for Aviation Career Education and the week long camp is aimed at High School students between the ages of 15 and 18 who are considering a career in aviation.

Campers at previous camps have had a great time plus they learned a tremendous amount.  They didn’t want the week to end.  The camp photo album can be viewed by clicking HERE.

During the course of the week, participants will focus on the knowledge needed to pass a Private Pilot Written Exam, while at the same time they will be introduced to a wide variety of aviation career opportunities from commercial pilot to airport management.  The camp staff has been selected from an elite group of college students who are also preparing for an Aviation Career.

The content of the material presented will focus on four major components:

  1. The Airplane and the Aviator

  2. The Airport Environment
